What is freeze-drying?

It's a process of lyophilization which removes the moisture from foods, decreasing their volume and weight while securing their nutritional value.

 Can you freeze-dry anything?

Almost! While you can technically put anything through the process, some things turn out better than others. Anything with a lot of oil content (like peanut butter) or super dense (Sour Patch Kids) will not freeze well.

Why freeze-dry candy?

Why not? It's delicious!

How long does freeze-dried candy last?

Goods preserved through freeze-drying have the longest shelf life of any food. Freeze-dried foods can last up to 25 years without refrigeration in the right conditions.
